Terms of Use
Draft — pending solicitor review. These Terms are published openly so the position is visible, but the language has not yet been reviewed by a UK solicitor specialising in IP/digital law. The intent and structure are stable; specific clauses may be refined before final adoption. Last updated 2026-05-23.

These terms govern your use of EV Charging Calculator at evchargingcalculator.co.uk (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Who we are
EV Charging Calculator is operated by Supra Digital, a sole trader registered in England and Wales. Our contact details are on the About page. You can reach us by email at [email protected].
2. What the Site is
EV Charging Calculator provides reference information about charging UK electric vehicles, including:
- A proprietary charging curve model that derives charging behaviour from battery cell chemistry, pack architecture and BMS parameters
- Cost calculators for public charging networks and home tariffs
- Time-to-charge calculators
- Editorial commentary on EV charging in the UK
The calculator outputs are estimates based on our model and published manufacturer specifications. Real-world results vary based on individual vehicle condition, ambient temperature, driving style and other factors.
3. How you may use the Site
You are welcome to:
- Use the calculators and read the content for your personal purposes
- Share links to specific pages on the Site
- Quote small extracts (no more than 50 words at a time) for editorial commentary, review or news reporting, provided you credit "EV Charging Calculator" and link back to the relevant page
- Bookmark, save or print pages for personal use
- Reference our calculators in conversations, social media posts or personal communications
4. How you may not use the Site
You may not, without our prior written permission:
- Use the Site or its content for any commercial purpose
- Reproduce, republish, scrape or otherwise copy substantial portions of the Site's content or data
- Reverse-engineer, copy or recreate the underlying charging curve model
- Use automated tools to extract data from the Site at scale
- Frame, embed or present the Site's content as part of another product or service
- Use the Site's content to train any machine learning model, large language model or similar system
If your intended use isn't clearly personal — for example, you're a charging network operator, an OEM, a fleet management platform, an insurance provider or a news publisher producing substantial editorial coverage — please get in touch at [email protected] before using our content. Commercial licensing is available and pricing depends on the use case.
5. The charging curve model
The charging curve model on this Site — the algorithm, the cell chemistry parameters, the calibration approach and the derived outputs — is the proprietary intellectual property of Supra Digital. We have developed it from first principles using publicly available manufacturer specifications and calibrated it through our own editorial process.
We share the methodology openly on our Methodology page because transparency is part of why the model is trustworthy. Publishing the methodology is not a grant of licence — the model itself and the parameters that make it work remain protected as our intellectual property.
Specifically, the following are protected:
- The cell chemistry database (parameters per chemistry)
- The battery pack mapping (which car uses which chemistry)
- The curve derivation algorithm and code
- The calibration approach and any tuning data
- All compiled outputs (derived charging curves, displayed values, comparison tables)
Use of the Site implies a personal-use licence to interact with these outputs. It does not transfer any ownership or grant any other licence.
6. Accuracy and disclaimers
We work hard to keep the data on this Site accurate and current. The model is calibrated against publicly known performance benchmarks for each car. However:
- The calculators provide estimates, not guarantees. Real-world charging times and costs vary based on factors we can't model (your specific battery's age, ambient conditions on the day, charger reliability, time-of-day variability, your specific driving habits).
- Charging network prices change frequently. We update them on a quarterly cycle plus ad-hoc when networks announce changes, but the live price at any specific charger may differ from what's shown here.
- Vehicle specifications are based on UK-market variants as we understand them. If a manufacturer changes battery suppliers (which has happened — Tesla switched UK Model Y to LG cells in 2024 as an example), we update as we become aware.
- Nothing on this Site constitutes financial, legal, technical or purchasing advice. Make your own informed decisions about EV purchases, charging arrangements and routing.
We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend or change any aspect of the Site at any time.
7. Affiliate links and disclosures
This Site may contain affiliate links to products and services from third parties (such as home charger installers, EV salary sacrifice schemes and energy tariffs). When you click an affiliate link and proceed to purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate links are clearly marked. They never influence our rankings, recommendations or the data shown by our calculators. Where we recommend a product, we do so because we believe it's a good fit for the use case described, not because the affiliate rate is better than alternatives.
For full details, see our About page.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by English law:
- We exclude all liability for decisions you make based on information on this Site
- We exclude all liability for indirect, special or consequential loss arising from your use of the Site
- Our total liability to you, in any circumstance, is limited to £100
Nothing in these terms excludes liability we cannot lawfully exclude under English law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
These limitations apply equally to anyone who provided content or contributions to the Site.
9. Privacy
We collect minimal personal information:
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited)
- Aggregate analytics via Cloudflare Web Analytics (privacy-friendly, no cookies)
We do not use third-party advertising trackers, do not collect email addresses unless you contact us directly, and do not sell or share visitor data.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the Site after changes implies acceptance of the new terms. For substantive changes, we'll add a notice on the Site for at least 30 days.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved by the courts of England and Wales, except that you may bring claims in your local jurisdiction if you have consumer rights that apply there.
If any provision of these terms is held to be unenforceable, the rest of the terms remain in effect.
12. Contact
